Egg, Olive and Mayonnaise Mask

Mayonnaise adds a heavy dose of nourishment to hair while adding shine back and the high protein content of eggs adds to seal moisture. Olive oil is loaded with fatty acids that coat the hair shaft to repair damaged layers and protect the hair from further damage.

You will need:

  • - 1 cup of mayonnaise
  • - 1/2 cup of olive oil
  • - 3 egg yolks


Combine 1 cup of mayonnaise with 1/2 cup of olive oil and three egg yolks. Apply this mix all over your hair and secure your hair on top of your head and put on a plastic shower cap. Let this sit for 20 minutes. Rinse out well without shampoo and condition as usual. Mixing these three together gives your hair a triple dose of healing power. This is a good hair mask for dry hair and also works well as a hair mask for hair growth.

Egg and Lemon Hair Mask


Eggs are rich in proteins, Vitamins A, D, and E and fatty acids that boost shine in your hair. You can easily make this hair mask at home as both ingredients are available.

You will need:

  • - 1 egg
  • - 1/2 a lemon


Separate the egg white and yolk and use the white for your mask. Squeeze half a lemon into the egg white and mix them to get a smooth consistency. Then, apply to damp hair from top to bottom, tie your hair up and cover it with a shower cap. Let this mask sit for 30-45 minutes and rinse with shampoo and conditioner. Not only is it an effective hair mask for dry hair, but it also acts as a cleanser and adds shine to dry and lifeless hair. 


For Thicker Hair:

Onion Juice Hair Mask


Onions are  well known as a home remedy to getting thick hair. It also promotes hair growth because it is believed to increase blood circulation when applied on the scalp.

You will need:

  • - Onion extract from 1 onion
  • - 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • - 1/2 tablespoon of lemon extract


Mix these ingredients in the mentioned proportions and apply the mixture onto your strands and roots. Let it stay for half an hour, wash it off with a mild shampoo. This mask, when applied thrice a month will give you longer and thicker hair immediately.
